We have not heard from many councils if they are to attend the April meeting with guest speaker from the aviation section of the Department for Transport.
Could you please let us know asap if you are/ not attending, as, sadly, we will have to cancel this senior Department for Transport person from attending if numbers are low.
To re-iterate – We are delighted to announce that a senior member of the Department for Transport (DfT) is to attend and speak at our April meeting.
It is very difficult to secure meetings with DfT officials and so we would encourage you not to miss this opportunity, as it will be hard to get them to attend again.
The date is Monday 23rd April at 7pm with Rudgwick Parish Council hosting the event at their parish hall off the A281.Rudgwick Village Hall, Guildford Road, Bucks Green, Rudgwick, West Sussex RH12 3JJ
They will give a talk on the current National Policy Statement and take questions from the floor.
This is your opportunity to ask questions directly of the decision makers; those that make the decisions that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and airports follow when it comes to airspace, the modernisation of airspace, noise, night flights, noise abatement procedures, etc.

Night Noise
CAGNE has written to the Chief Medical Officer asking for research into the health impacts of night movements at Gatwick and the cost to the NHS. Please see attached.
NMB News
A new report has been produced. Sadly it was only conducted of arrivals to the east – IMM15 perception of aircraft height.
Reduce Night Noise Trial
This is set to take place from 1am-5am in 2019 during the winter period. This is not ideal but Gatwick require the airspace to be quiet.
We attach the presentation given by Helios who works on behalf of Gatwick.
New Casper
Casper has been updated to provide more data and we are delighted that Gatwick has agreed to our request to show arrivals and departures on the same map, this illustrates the areas that receive no respite from air traffic.
