Throughout 2019 the Gatwick Airport management have been meeting specific departments of local authorities and members of parliament to discuss their plans to use the emergency runway as a second runway via the planning process of a Development Consent Order. They have not met with the public or parish and town councils; it would seem Gatwick do not intend to meet with residents until 2020.
CAGNE, with the support of the Gatwick Environment Group, is now providing residents with an opportunity to obtain facts about the Gatwick expansion plans and how they will impact local communities through aircraft noise, road and rail capacity, housing and amenities, and what Gatwick’s planned growth will mean in additional release of greenhouse gases.
